| Tire Locks and Wheel Boots |
|
Pit Bull vs. Other Tire Locks and Wheel boots
Believe it or not, the Pit Bull Tire Lock is not the only tire lock on the market . But, our competition sure does make us look good. Here's how we stack up against other tire locks, wheel boots, and similar automobile immobilization products on the market today.
Weight:
The first tire locks and boots were cumbersome. Some weighed in excess of 60 pounds or more! This kind of heavyweight product restricted not only its portability, but also the number of people who would be capable of installing it. While our competitors have lightened up a bit, there are still several products that weigh in at, or near, 30 lbs.
The Pit Bull Tire Lock was designed to be just as strong, if not stronger, while keeping its weight to a minimum. At Just 9.5 pounds, the Pit Bull Tire Lock is so easy to carry, transport, and install, that my grandmother can use it.
On the other hand, there is such a thing as being too small when it comes to wheel immobilizers. Some of the other products are so tiny that they fit in grandma's purse!
Strength:
A lot of companies have tried to address the weight problem with smaller, more manageable immobilization products at the expense of its durability and strength. Do some searching out there. They range from flimsy, thin looking mechanisms to products you would swear were a child's toy. And, one is so light and flimsy that its manufacturer suggests that you use two of them “for extra security.”
One lock in particular, claiming to be the best wheel immobilizer ever , has more holes in its arms than Swiss cheese! Each and every hole weakens the arm that much more.
Made with specialized aluminum alloy and steel, the Pit Bull Tire Lock has made no concessions as to its strength, and it has no holes in its indestructible locking arms. Furthermore, the Pit Bull Tire Lock features the highest quality, drill-proof locking cylinder available.
Adjustability:
Many tire lock products on the market do not offer much in the way of adjustability or universality. For example, one manufacturer offers several sizes in each of several versions. This would require parking enforcement officers to carry around an assortment of devices.
Not so with the one-size-fits-all Pit Bull Tire Lock. It has a completely adjustable gripping range, from 2 inches (bicycle wheel) up to 18 inches (monster tire).
Ease of Installation:
Every wheel-immobilizing product out there claims to be easy to install. But are they really? Make sure you ask about installation before you buy. One product requires seven steps to install its three-piece assembly.
The Pit Bull Tire Lock goes on so simply that my grandmother can do it. I swear!

Pit Bull vs. Car Alarms
Car alarms now come standard in many new cars. But, how effective a car alarm is can vary depending on where you live. In most cities, the sound of a car alarm is like the “song of the city.” It’s just background noise and no one is paying attention. The sound of a car alarm just does not get the kind of attention it used to. A thief has plenty of time to disengage the alarm before anyone even takes notice.
There is a sound that people will pay attention to in the middle of the night:
a Jackhammer! Because that’s what it will take to get the Pit Bull Tire lock off of your vehicle. Sure, they could still break in to your car, but they are not taking it anywhere. A car alarm just might give you a few minutes notice before someone steals your radio, but only the Pit Bull Tire Lock will protect your vehicle all night long.

Pit Bull Vs. Steering Wheel Locks
Another popular anti-theft device is the steering wheel lock. These are typically bars that attach to the steering wheel to prevent it from turning. Most steering wheels, however, are designed to be flimsy enough to bend out of the driver’s way in the event of an accident. Therefore, a thief can easily cut the steering wheel using bolt cutters or a hacksaw, remove the lock, and steal the vehicle. In addition, many steering wheel locks themselves can be cut through or hammered off in a few minutes.
The Pit Bull Tire Lock cannot be cut with bolt cutters or a hacksaw. It’s even impervious to a blowtorch!
Hands-Down Winner of the Competition: Pit Bull Tire Lock
Once again, the Pit Bull takes a big bite of the competition.
